Dynamic Audit Guarantees Compliant Processes

When 3 Banken EDV Gesellschaft m.b.H. (3BEG) based in Linz, Austria, introduced Beta 96 Enterprise Compliance Auditor in the fall of 2008, this marked the start of dynamic audit for the company. Faced with ever stricter legislation and security guidelines, it became necessary to further increase IT security, improve reporting and introduce extensive IT security audits in the z/OS area.

Beta 96 now enables the service center of the Austrian 3 Banken Group to precisely implement the requirements defined in the BSI IT list of measures, ISO 27001 and CobiT 4.0. Pre-built, expandable control procedures automatically detect IT security vulnerabilities and allow the 3 Banken Group to fully comply with BSI, ISO and CobiT provisions.

The Company
In 1991, the three regional banks OBERBANK, BKS and BTV intensified their long-standing cooperation in the area of organization and IT. The data centers were outsourced and consolidated to form the new 3 Banken EDV Gesellschaft m.b.H, or 3BEG, in short.

The Challenge
The company was in need of a dynamic audit solution in the z/OS area that covers all required measures from BSI, ISO 27001 and CobiT, thus guaranteeing that the bank meets all compliance provisions.
