Optional Components of the Unix Suite
Beta UX - Archive
Beta UX - Archive, an integrated function of Beta UX base system, through its archive pool
concept, offers the possibility to respectively secure and store lists and reports with different
requirements, in a single or multiple manner, according to different retention periods, and those
which are separated according to customers or separated for further storage on different media. An
advantage of this concept is that all lists and reports stored in an archive file have the same
archive retention period. Therefore, no reorganization of the archive files is necessary. All
corresponding resources for each list and report are stored page-wise. The data stored in such a
manner allow a page-by-page search of the archive files as well.
Beta UX - External Reader
Beta UX - External Reader allows you to send every document, irrespective of the
platform on which it has been created (e.g. Unix or Windows), to the Unix server via TCP/IP. All
documents can be integrated into the Unix-based document distribution and archiving system Beta UX.
The unrivaled capacity, performance and integrity of the Unix platform thus become available to the
entire organization for secure keeping of critical corporate documents and efficient distribution
to all corners of the enterprise.
Beta UX - External Writer
Beta UX - External Writer is designed for the distribution of documents via existing e-mail
servers (working with SMTP) and fax-servers. The user configures Beta UX - External Writer through
an HTML interface. This can be done intuitively from any PC within his company's network.
Beta UX - BC-XOM Input
These components add extended functions for SAP R/3 users to Beta UX. They support SAP R/3
systems on a number of Windows NT, Unix and Linux platforms.
Web Connectors
The connections between the Beta Web Enabler and the base modules of Beta UX and Beta UX
- Global Index are realized via Web Connectors. A web connector realizes the interface to the
respective base module and, at the same time, makes the layout of the module specific browser
displays available.
