Beta Systems Acquires Product Rights for rolmine from ipg
  • Greatly reduced task load for handling role-based IT rights management in large corporations

  • Strategic investment in a forward-looking identity access management system

Berlin, 19. January 2010 – Beta Systems Software AG has taken over all ownership rights for the rolmine product from Swiss partner ipg ag. rolmine keeps existing access rights information from systems and applications in synch with the constantly changing organizational structures persisting in companies. rolmine creates, analyzes and maintains bundles of identical access rights – so-called roles – in the company, thus representing an important component of innovative and auditable identity access management (IAM) systems for large corporations.

Role mining is an indispensable component for continuous role management. The Beta Systems product offer includes the comprehensive role lifecycle management system SAM Rolmine, which particularly addresses companies with a large number of users. SAM Rolmine forms a key component of the new SAM Enterprise Identity Management Suite as well as of Beta Systems’ z/Security solutions for data centers. It facilitates both the analysis and resolution of existing identity and role access rights and further supports fast development of user roles and the transparent, clear visualization of such roles. Role-based access systems can be kept up to date and transparent at all times while accounting for the ongoing organizational changes – a requirement that is of extreme strategic importance in times of economic change accompanied by rising numbers of acquisitions and mergers.

Large customers with high numbers of users benefit in particular from SAM Rolmine and the simplified security administration and role management processes it affords. Corporate security guidelines can be defined and controlled with great ease. At the same time, the solution helps companies to meet compliance requirements in terms of making the allocation of user rights transparent and traceable.

“The acquisition of the ownership rights for rolmine globally places Beta Systems into the front row of IAM full solution providers. This move underscores the strategic impact of our security products and strengthens our reputation as a provider of comprehensive solutions,” explains Harald Podzuweit, General Manager of Business Lines DCI and IDM at Beta Systems Software AG.
Hans Noser, CEO of ipg AG, adds: “ipg will continue to represent Beta Systems in Switzerland as a sales partner responsible for the entire SAM Enterprise Identity Management Suite. We will focus on our tried and proven consulting and implementation expertise for holistic IAM projects and will also benefit from Beta Systems’ strengths in further developing the products in an ongoing, forward-looking manner.”
