- Completeness of identity management solution underlined with crucial role engineering functions
Berlin, Germany, 5 February 2009 – Beta Systems Software AG is prominently
featured in a new in-depth report
1
of the provisioning market worldwide by Burton Group, a leading IT research and consulting
company. Beta Systems emerged as one of the strongest players in the European market and was also
cited in relation to its strength in the financial services sector. In addition, it was
mentioned as one of only two vendors providing a complete role engineering solution. Burton Group
report notes that the efficient management of business roles and their corresponding resources has
the highest priority among enterprises with provisioning projects.
Proven competence in financial services sector
Burton Group notes that user account provisioning was initially marketed as a way
to cut operating costs and improve security. However, increasing legal and regulatory requirements
have led to a surge in demand for these solutions, especially in the financial services industry.
The report underlines the fact that Beta Systems has achieved significant success in this market. “
Actually, seven of the ten largest European insurance groups use Beta Systems’ security solutions.
Fifty per cent of Europe’s largest banks also work with Beta Systems’ products”, completes Kamyar
Niroumand, CEO of Beta Systems Software AG. The research notes additional strengths of Beta
Systems, such as its large European customer base and the solution’s strong support for mainframes.
Broad-based IdM functionality
Beta Systems is also cited in Burton Group’s market study for its broad
functionality. With role management becoming a key priority in enterprise provisioning projects,
Beta Systems is one of only two vendors mentioned that provide a comprehensive role engineering
solution with role mining and discovery functions. In addition, the Beta Systems solution
facilitates the creation of forms without programming that can be used by delegated administrators,
such as line managers, to carry out user management tasks for their own business unit.
Burton Group also turns its attention to access rights management using agents and
connectors. Its report notes that the Beta Systems solution includes “powerful capabilities” to
track access control lists on the systems being managed by the provisioning solution, as well as
controlling account and access rights. Finally, it is cited as one of the solutions that provide a
centralized repository for user attributes and other user information, helping to accelerate
processing, analysis and reporting tasks.
