Berlin, Germany. 1 October 2008 – Beta Systems Software AG announced today
that it has launched the first integration solution for its Beta Agilizer Suite. The new Beta
Agilizer 4DocumentProcessing (A4Doc), which is available now, enables companies to conduct business
process oriented document retrieval via Webservices or browser-based clients. A4Doc searches across
different repositories and retrieves electronic documents in any format, as it operates
independently of any specific data source. A4Doc is an integrated interface layer that brings
together strands of information from multiple systems, providing users with a centralized
information hub and real-time access to data. With A4Doc, companies are able to run enterprise-wide
document searches across lines of business and departments. They can continue to use legacy systems
as before, or gradually migrate them under the interface layer by “encapsulating” certain
functions. The new solution protects investments by providing connectors that integrate existing
repositories within heterogeneous environments and specialized applications. Once it has queried
different repositories, A4Docs provides a consistent view of the search results in a single window.
The Beta Agilizer 4DocumentProcessing, which is available now, is one of the four products that
make up the Beta 4Agility Suite.
A4Doc’s target groups are traditional banks, financial trading firms and insurance companies
with very large data volumes. Customers use this solution for a range of applications, including
claims processing for payment transactions, and to display historical customer and money transfer
information. In these situations, A4Doc acts as a mediator, retrieving documents from across the
enterprise, even spanning several sites. It delivers an overview of the relevant business process
within repositories like archives, SQL databases, and systems like SAP and SharePoint. The solution
supports all document types and formats including letters, faxes, images, and PDFs, which the user
can retrieve with a single query and from a unified interface. Access to the individual
repositories is automated, reducing errors that may arise by inadvertently omitting a data source
from a search. The hit list of retrieved documents eliminates redundancies and delivers an
integrated, consolidated view of information like customer files. The retrieval process is more
efficient for users as they only need a single client to run the search, regardless of how many
data sources are involved and where they are located.
Customers can also use A4Doc to migrate their legacy repositories if required. The systems
concerned can be encapsulated and isolated using connectors, with A4Doc acting as a middle layer
and common interface between the different source systems. The solution provides a detailed audit
trail by meticulously logging the data import into the new repository and generating an audit
report.
In combination with Beta Systems’ input management solution FrontCollect, customers can
utilize a single system to automatically capture, process, retrieve and archive heterogeneous
documents and data. Together, A4Doc and FrontCollect form Beta Systems’ complete capture-to-archive
solution.
The Beta Agilizer 4DocumentProcessing is a part of the Beta 4Agility Suite. The suite comprises
business process oriented products from Beta Systems’ core areas of document processing, IT user
management, and data processing in data centers. They interconnect applications and systems while
providing standardized functions via web services. As a result, these integrated solutions enable
customers to increase business and IT agility for their company.
