Beta Systems to showcase integration solution for more agility

Business-process oriented industry solutions from handling incoming mail to compliance and data center integration
Berlin, Germany. 16 August 2007 – Beta Systems Software AG is exhibiting at DMS
Expo and will be presenting standardized industry solutions for general banks, savings banks and
insurance companies in Hall 7, Stand E021/G022. Together with Beta Systems, partners All for One
Documents GmbH and FIS Informationssysteme & Consulting GmbH will be showing their
industry-specific solutions. Beta Systems will also be giving the first sneak preview of its new
product suite Beta 4Agility against the backdrop of its motto ‘More Enterprise Agility’.
The Beta 4Agility products interconnect applications and systems. They accelerate IT
reactivity to complex challenges and significantly increase IT performance. The Beta 4Agility suite
comprises four integration products based on Beta Systems’ traditional core businesses: document
management, IT user management, data processing within data centers, and compliance solutions.
Business Process Oriented Solutions for General and Savings Banks
In the banking and financial services sector, the growing demands on
competitiveness, cost pressures, and increasing globalization call for innovative solutions to
automate business processes. At DMS Expo, Beta Systems will be demonstrating the ways its ECM
product range can be used in the back-office of general and savings banks. Financial institutions
that have – and need to manage – extremely large quantities of data need to exhaust all
possibilities for optimization. To support them, Beta Systems will be presenting input processing
with FrontCollect, especially for the back office area and for handling general incoming mail,
including emails. The solution covers processes from digitization and host data processing through
to archiving. FrontCollect is integrated in Microsoft technologies including Windows Vista,
Sharepoint Server 2007, and Office 2007. The products FrontOffice and Microsoft Office SharePoint
Server (based on the EBS 20 archive) enable efficient and cost-effective credit processing.
Beta Agilizer 4 Document Processing makes documents available in a business process oriented
context. As they are electronically archived, they can be searched and retrieved quickly and
easily, regardless of which archiving system they are stored in. The Agilizer integrates a range of
different archiving solutions and delivers the documents to the user via web services and other
user- and business process-oriented interfaces.
Beta Systems is also extending its payment transaction software with functions that enable
enterprises and banks to better utilize the advantages of SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area), the
upcoming single market for payments within the eurozone.
Standardized Solutions for Insurance Companies
With FrontCollect Insurance, Beta Systems provides a standardized solution for the
fast, simple, and secure capture of insurance companies’ mail. The FrontCollect Insurance solution
extends the FrontCollect Suite to a standard package for the task-oriented process of claim
reimbursements. FrontCollect Insurance includes multiple specialized functions and
application-specific checks and verifications that are needed to process insurance claims. The
solution can be tailored and extended to meet individual customer’s needs. Claim data from doctors’
invoices for outpatient and inpatient care as well as hospital bills are provided automatically for
use in further applications like invoice verification, service provision, or health management.
In addition, Beta Systems is presenting a cross-sector solution for insurance companies that
processes incoming mail and enables insurers to consolidate the provision of their services. This
is a requirement for integral, enterprise-wide customer service on demand. The solution even
captures unstructured data. It facilitates the work of customer service representatives and of the
back office due to its high level of automation and standardization.
Partners FIS and All for One to Present Industry-Specific Solutions
The Beta Systems partners, FIS Informationssysteme und Consulting GmbH and All for
One Documents GmbH, will be showing specialized applications for incoming invoices on Beta Systems’
stand at DMS. The SAP full-service specialist, FIS Informationssysteme, is presenting a complete
solution comprised of Beta Systems’ software FrontCollect Invoice and the document monitor FIS/edc.
This supports the automatic processing of incoming invoices and any other documents in SAP.
All for One specializes in automatic data extraction from structured and unstructured
documents, even very complex ones. At DMS, the Beta Systems partner is showing solutions for
industry (invoices and credit notes), trade (orders and surveys), and for service companies
(applications, certificates, and contracts). Scanners, ERP systems and archiving solutions can be
integrated with these products.
Cross-Industry Solutions
Analysis and Monitoring Solution for Dynamic IT Auditing Across Systems
The Beta Agilizer 4 Compliance enables company-specific compliance requirements to be
fulfilled automatically and centrally. The Agilizer manages them using an implemented set of
policies and rules. This leads to improved and simplified control cycles, which start by monitoring
regulations and end with the preventive discovery of risks and vulnerabilities within the existing
compliance structure. As part of the solution, the Beta 96 Enterprise Compliance Auditor provides
IT-assisted auditing of compliance-related data. Using an extensive range of analyses and controls,
business-critical data is safeguarded while complying with national and international IT security
requirements. To facilitate its immediate use, the solution comes with a range of proven
best-of-breed policies.
Beta Systems will also be showing how data centers can be integrated into business processes
using universal web service interfaces, and how companies can implement high-performance,
enterprise-wide output management in practice.
