• Optimisation of internal work processes and increased efficiency in document handling
• Reductions in process costs

Berlin, Germany.  19 September 2006 – Beta Systems Software AG (Prime Standard: BSS), provider of software products and solutions for secure and efficient document management, and HVB Payments & Services GmbH (HVB PAS) will be showcasing their joint document digitisation solutions at this year's DMS EXPO in Hall 8 on stand H030/F031. These products underline the companies' close cooperation - HVB PAS' document digitisation range, which has recently been significantly extended, is primarily based on Beta Systems technology. HVB PAS is a provider of document management, payment transaction and accounting services and a 100 per cent subsidiary of the Munich-based bank, HypoVereinsbank (HVB).

Creation of electronic customer records using FrontCollect
One of the presentations on the stand will include a live demo of how HVB PAS uses FrontCollect, Beta Systems' input management system, to create electronic customer records.  The company will also illustrate its experience of upgrading Beta Systems' IDOCA software with its successor FrontCollect. Alongside financial services, HVB PAS also uses Beta Systems' FrontOffice and FrontCollect products to target its document management services to other markets. At DMS, the two companies will demonstrate how FrontOffice can implement workflow processes that go way beyond the typical requirements of banks. HVB is planning to implement FrontOffice to process written orders from customers.

Digitising, forwarding and archiving paper documents: a one-stop shop
“Beta Systems' ECM technology enables us to offer our customers services that start right at the beginning of the document value chain,” explains Juergen Woelm, department director for account management and marketing at HVB PAS. “What that means is that paper documents are digitised and then handed off to other systems downstream at the client's site using common interfaces; or, alternatively, stored in HVB PAS' own tamper-proof archive. Alongside Beta Systems, we'll be demonstrating how the individual technologies dovetail together.”

Successful deployment at HypoVereinsbank
Beta Systems' and HVB PAS' joint solution in use at the HypoVereinsbank has resulted in optimised internal work processes as well as increased efficiency in document handling. Following the replacement of traditional storage technology and the implementation of web-based, enterprise-wide access to all applications, processing times have been dramatically reduced. On the two companies' joint stand, DMS EXPO visitors can also see how other enterprises have achieved a durable reduction of their process costs in this way.
