Berlin, 7 August 2006 – Beta Systems Software AG (Prime Standard: BSS on the German stock exchange), a supplier of high-performance solutions for Enterprise Content Management (ECM) and mass data management, today announced that it will be presenting solutions from its Document Management and Enterprise Content Management business areas in Hall 8, Stand H030/F031 at the DMS Expo in Cologne, Germany. Beta Systems’ theme for the show is “Input Meets Output” and the company will be targeting retail and savings banks, insurance companies and the manufacturing industry. In addition, Beta Systems’ Microsoft and SAP-integrated solutions will be shown for the first time. The partner area will feature companies including All for One Documents, FIS Informationssysteme & Consulting and SEAC. Beta Systems’ banking customer HypoVereinsbank Payments & Services will also be demonstrating its electronic customer records on the stand.
Optimised Document Logistics Provided by the Integration of Beta Systems’ Input and Output
Solutions with Microsoft Office 2007
Beta Systems has integrated its FrontCollect input management solution with
Microsoft’s Windows Vista, SharePoint Server 2007 and Office 2007. At DMS Expo, Beta Systems will
demonstrate a prototype of an application scenario - the automated distribution of incoming mail
for Contoso, Microsoft’s example virtual company. Starting with data extraction and classification,
the application pre-qualifies faxes, emails, and digitised paper-based mail as well as
responsibility, skills, and the people likely to be handling them. The “Office Process Control”
enables the identification and triggering of processes in staff members’ own Outlook inbox,
underpinning tasks like handling inquiries, checking invoices and dealing with support cases. This
significantly reduces archiving time in Office and ensures compliance with document archiving
requirements. In addition, classification suggestions displayed in the task pane make archiving
much easier. Publishing team information in SharePoint and forwarding documents can also be
completely automated.
These new, innovative solutions help users to tackle the growing flood of information efficiently and effectively, whilst improving management processes.
Efficient Document Management for Banks and Savings Banks
At DMS Expo, Beta Systems will be showcasing document processing solutions tailored
specifically for banks. The company will demonstrate input processing using FrontCollect,
particularly focusing on loan approval and general incoming mail, including email. Input processing
spans document digitisation and host data processing through to archiving. Beta Systems’
FrontOffice and Beta 99 (based on the EBS 20 archive) products ensure efficient and cost-effective
credit processing. In addition, Beta Systems will demonstrate integrated access to archive and host
application data using the Beta Web Enabler as well as its Beta 93 UX outgoing mail solution aimed
specifically at private banks.
Practical Demonstration of Electronic Customer Records: HypoVereinsbank Payments &
Services
The German-based HypoVereinsbank Payments & Services uses Beta Systems’
FrontCollect input management solution to create electronic customer records and will give a live
demo of a project they have completed. They will also illustrate their experience of migrating to
Beta Systems’ FrontCollect from its predecessor IDOCA.
Online Bank Statement Solution for Banking Service Providers
Banking service providers use Beta Systems’ Beta 93 output management solution and
the Beta Web Enabler as a portal to display relevant bank statement data. The ‘Bank Statements
Online’ solution enables customers to make significant annual savings in printing, paper, and
transport costs, because the data are stored online and are only printed out when the customer
requests a paper copy. The traditional procedure involves the statement being sent to the bank
branch holding the customer account and being personally given to the customer by branch staff. If
the customer does not come to the branch to pick up his or her statement within a certain
timeframe, it is sent back to head office and mailed to the customer from there. Alongside account
information being made available faster, the implementation of the new Beta Systems solution is
focused on ensuring compliance with the various security requirements.
Output Management Solution: An ‘Output Hub’ for Financial Services Providers
At DMS Expo, Beta Systems will demonstrate how its Beta 93, Beta 93 Fast Retrieval,
Beta 93 Document Transformer and Beta Web Enabler products enable financial institutions to pool
centralised work and tasks and connect business processes. The focus here will be on the support
and extension of the productive output archive and the related daily processing of data related to
the GDPdU (German guidelines for data access and auditing of digital documents) and other
information.
Automated Processing of Incoming Invoices with FrontCollect Invoice for SAP
FrontCollect Invoice automatically processes all incoming invoices. It is
seamlessly integrated with SAP and recognises all invoice line items, captures them and
automatically enters them into relevant database fields. The software checks and
validates this data and forwards it to the SAP system following approval. Error handling can be
easily performed using SAP Business Workflow.
Input and Output Management Solutions for the “Insurance Factory”
Beta Systems is the only ECM industry leader to offer solutions for processing
incoming as well as outgoing mail, and these solutions are in daily use in seven out of the top ten
European insurance companies. In the input management area, Beta Systems demonstrates how
digitising, classifying, and archiving documents like insurance policies and contracts can enable
the centralised, secure, and flexible management of these documents throughout their entire life
cycle. In this way, the requirements for an “insurance factory” can be met and the
industrialisation of the insurance business taken to the next level. In the output management area,
more and more insurance companies are supplying agencies with digital documents like application
forms or policies in order to provide the broker at the point of sale with faster support. With the
new release of the output management solution, services like local printouts of customer documents
can be implemented quickly and cost-effectively.
