AD HOC ANNOUNCEMENT PURS. TO SEC. 15 WpHG
Berlin, 26 October 2006 – In a meeting convened today, the Supervisory Board of Beta Systems Software AG (BSS, ISIN DE 0005224406) appointed Mr. Gernot Sagl (37) as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Beta Systems Software AG with immediate effect.
Mr. Sagl has an extensive track record in international management and most recently held the position of Regional Finance Manager within a top ten US pharmaceutical group, where he was responsible for the financial operations of enterprises based in Central and Eastern Europe.

Mr. Sagl holds the degree of Magister der Betriebswirtschaft (Master’s in Business
Administration) from Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz and has also attended Harvard University.
