PRESS RELEASE
Beta Systems to Launch eSSO at Infosec 2006
on Stand G932
-
Also Featuring the Full SAM Jupiter Identity and Access Management Suite
2nd March 2006 - Beta Systems Software AG (Prime Standard: BSS on the German stock exchange), a leading supplier of security and Identity Management (IdM) solutions, today announces its presence at Infosec 2006 on Stand G932. At Infosec, held at London Olympia between 25th and 27th April, Beta Systems will be launching SAM eSSO (enterprise Single Sign On) which simply and securely provides access to all applications with a single authentication step.
According to Keith Girt, UK Country Manager at Beta Systems, “ With SAM eSSO, users only need to memorise a single password for their primary login, or use any strong authentication method. There is no longer the need to keep written reminders or to use simple, insecure passwords. Organisations can now improve security levels by introducing complex and restrictive password rules. SAM eSSO handles the log-in process, so there is virtually no limit to the password requirements, such as length, characters used and change cycle.”
IT users login under Windows with their Windows password and SAM eSSO then takes care of entering the user ID and password for all other applications. By implementing SAM eSSO, companies greatly reduce password reset requests which means help-desk staff are able to focus their efforts on more important issues. Also, due to the time saved at login and the reduction in password resets at the helpdesk, the productive work time of employees increases. According to Keith Girt, “Based on our own research, a business with 8,000 employees can generate 60 additional man-years of working capacity in just three years with SAM eSSO.”
SAM eSSO is a component of the SAM Jupiter Identity and Access Management Suite which will also be featured at Infosec. SAM Jupiter automates critical user management processes to define and enforce enterprise-wide security policies. It ensures consistency in user profiles and access control data, helping companies to reduce operational risks. The solution comprises an integrated suite of functions and components that automate key user provisioning processes, including the creation and deletion of user accounts.
Keith Girt states, “SAM Jupiter enables businesses to cut administration costs while increasing the level of security within the company. It is also a key tool in helping companies in achieving compliance to regulations including Sarbanes-Oxley and Basel II.”
Beta Systems will be on Stand G932. If you would like to arrange a meeting with Beta Systems at Infosec for a discussion of SAM Jupiter and SAM eSSO, or would like further information on the company and its Identity and Access Management solutions, please email Beta Systems on info@betasystems.com or contact Keith Girt directly on +44 (0)118 976 9222 / keith.girt@betasystems.com.
